Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering (DCE), an esteemed institution under the Dhanalakshmi Education Trust, was established near Tambaram in Chennai during the academic year 2001-2002. The college was envisioned by the renowned academician and former Anna University professor, Dr. V. P. Ramamurthi, who has been instrumental in its development.

Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, DCE stands as a beacon of engineering education. The college is a sister institution to the Indian Institute of Professional Education (IIPE), also founded by Dr. Ramamurthi in 1993, which specializes in coaching for professional course entrance exams.
