Aarupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospital was established in Pondicherry in the year 2000, with official approval from the Government of India and the Medical Council of India. The institution commenced with its first batch of 100 medical students in the academic year 2000-2001 and has since grown to accommodate 800 students.

The college is equipped with comprehensive facilities, including well-established pre-clinical and para-clinical departments housed within the college premises. These departments are fully equipped with laboratories, a library, a demonstration room, and a museum to support a robust educational environment. The college is also supported by essential equipment and staffed with qualified professionals.

Additionally, the institution features Med-Varsity with 15 systems, providing advanced e-learning opportunities. The college is tele-linked with other members of Vinayaka Mission’s University (VMU) for telemedicine purposes, facilitating remote consultations and collaborative medical services.
